Many parents are wary of home schooling because they feel that their children will not get enough social contact with their peers. The truth is, with so many people opting to home school their children, there is a great network accessible for you to interact with other home school families. Feel that you aren’t smart enough to teach math or science? There are home school mom and dads who will trade off teaching certain subjects if you teach your children and theirs’ the subjects you are best at. There are many resources available to parents who desire to home school; never feel that you are alone in this endeavor. You just have to put in the time and the spunk to take on the tremendous responsibilities of delivering your child from the present and into the future. But what is more vital in your life than helping your child become the best they can be?. Many parents in consider home schooling for their children over normal school classes. Historically, most parents home schooled their children due to religious beliefs. Now, the reasons are more that religion. And, they are contrary to opinions where professionals once believe that you should not home school your children. Satellite broadband internet is making it possible for home schooling to break through the barriers of the once negative myths. As a matter of fact, many schools in urban cities are finding it cheaper to close schools and turn them into free public home school programs.
Another reason home–schooling has increased in popularity are cultural. Many parents feel that their children are not learning enough about their own cultures and are in essence losing their cultural identities attending physical public schools. Although physical public schools implement various cultural histories into their lesson plans, there’s not much room or time in the curriculum to advance further into specific areas. The lessons are usually brief and incomplete. Home–school parents can use their fast satellite internet connection to research and expand on these cultural lessons. Parents come up with sub lessons that teach children more about their culture as well as other cultures, including languages, foods, tradition, and history. Most of which are not taught in the physical school setting. For rural area communities, home–schooling through the use of satellite broadband internet has expanded and allowed more in depth education that will give their children the ability to academically and professionally thrive in the new age world we live in.
There are plenty of reasons why parents are deciding to home school besides the once common religious reasons. One is perhaps social reasoning. Professionals who once criticized parents for home schooling their children are beginning to change their views, finally realizing what people in rural areas knew for years. That not all social interaction is positive. The physical schools are becoming increasingly violent, along with increased drug usage, and gang activity. Home schooling with satellite broadband internet allows schools to turn into interactive virtual classrooms where children are still able to interact with teachers, students, and parents. The home–school setting draws the child’s attention from negative social behaviors like alcohol, drugs, and risky sexual behavior. Chances of the child encountering violence in the home–school setting are nonexistent.
As your child’s home school teacher, you can also determine the morale and religious teachings your child is exposed to. And in regards to religious teaching, you are also able to control if or how much religious teachings are brought into your child’s realm. Your kids will have a precise view of what your family’s values entail and there will be no uncertainty as to what your family truly believes. What you teach your child is the way your family lives. There are more and more parents becoming dissatisfied with the public school system as it is now. They worry that recent congressional edicts are either pushing their children too hard or not pushing them nearly as much as they should be. Other parents are concerned with the government taking too much control on what can and can not be said, let alone taught to their children. Some parents fear that their children are not put in appropriate classes according to their abilities, but are massed -passed because of their age. And then there are other parents who had bad experiences in their past with the school system and are determined to make a better educational setting for their children.
Search for accredited school, Don’t simply get an online diploma from an unrecognized school. You must make sure that you enroll in the accredited school which is recognized internationally. This is important because many reputable universities will not accept diplomas from online schools that only hold national accreditation. If you don’t have any transcript, you should get yourself ready to sit for a placement test provided by the school in order to determine your education level. Get yourself ready, In order to complete the online program smoothly, you need to make sure that you have a computer at home with high-speed internet access which you can use on daily basis to learn new topics and complete all course works. Besides getting the hardware and software ready, you are reminded to get yourself physically and mentally ready too. Make sure you have a healthy body and fresh mind during your study. A middle school aged child is starting to see the world outside of themselves and then has the chore of figuring out where they fit into that world. This is a good time to introduce curriculum that helps them learn about themselves and how their bodies work, a solid health curriculum works great during these ages. We also expanded on this theme with a module of sex education that we approved of. We had each of our children read a book by Josh Harris called “I Kissed Dating Good-bye.”
